Happy New Year.
Wish those of us in the Anglo countries luck - we'll need it!

Happy New Year to you, too! I see Putin's doubled the price of vodka? Is that likely to lead to civil unrest? ; )

Hi Publius,

What is an Anglo country? UK, Aus, and NZ?

I celebrated with family at home, woke my son up to see the ball drop on TV (it's an American thing).

I did get a bit drunk.

My spirit of choice is Slivovitz.

So what do the readers, and Mr. Mishin favor as drinks?

Slivovitze is not bad, have a half full bottle in my house. But as an occassional drink. I prefer vodka, Belaya Zolata or Russkii Standart. Also like rum and Jack Daniels whiskey, but mixed with cola. Other sipping drinks like various Irish cremes and such. But over all, I am a beer man, love Russian, German, British beers and ales.

There is a great (Hungarian) Slivovitz at Trader's Joe, in the US.
And far cheaper than the other foreign drinks.
Yep, the best drink...

Happy new year!!
